LOCATION:

Guangxi Medical University (GXMU) is located in Nanning City, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, backing on the picturesque Qingxiu Hill and standing by the beautiful Nanhu Lake and mighty Yongjiang River. Established in 1934, GXMU is one of the oldest medical education institutes in China. GXMU has a beautiful campus with a total space of over 400,000 square meters which provides the teachers and students with an ideal environment and conditions for teaching, studying and living.

INTRODUCTION:

EDUCATIONAL BASE:

Now, the University has more than 11 thousand full time students and 3647 staff. There are 68 experts enjoy special government allowance from the State Council, 6 young experts have win the prize of “outstanding contribution to the nation”, 19 staff have been chosen as national model teachers, national prominent teachers and national advanced worker, and 52 staff have been chosen as provincial model workers, prominent experts. FACULTY & TRAINING

Our school as the faculty building a strong school personnel to implement the strategy to achieve sustainable development an important task, to take in culture, the introduction of other effective measures outside, improving faculty titles, degrees, learn geography and age structure, enhance the overall quality of teaching staff

My school more than 800 full-time teachers, which is higher than 200 titles, 225 people with doctorates, 400 master’s degree. Our school speaker qualified teachers meet more than 600, accounting for 98.27% of total speaker teachers.   My school to take a variety of effective measures to increase the amount of teachers, to optimize student-teacher ratio to ensure the smooth development of teaching. At present our school student-teacher ratio of 13.18:1, the medical student-teacher ratio of 7.72:1 categories. 2007-2008 school year, student-teacher ratio of 13.18:1

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION

International Students Education, Guangxi University home front. Our school began to enroll students in 1978, is the first point to recruit foreign students, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students students one of the eight medical schools. International Education formed the undergraduate, master’s, doctoral multi-level structure, covering Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, India, Africa, Oceania, Europe and 54 countries, more than 300 students currently in school.

UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

Library building area of 29,880 square meters, reading seats 2430, the Library has: Circulation stacks, books, periodicals reading room, electronic reading room, television audio-visual room, medical room and 24-hour self-Novelty Library and other services; existing paper-based books over 1.2 million copies (32 thousand kinds of books), in 4000 kinds of foreign periodicals (now published 1,571 kinds); have CNKI, VIP, PML and other Chinese and foreign books, periodicals database 16, e-books more than 80 million copies.
